Bhagat bags Denmark International bronze double

Odisha star shuttler Pramod Bhagat won both singles and doubles bonze medal in Victor Denmark Para-Badminton International, which was held in Odense, Denmark from 15 to 20 October, 2019. With these two bronze, the total number of international medals for Bhagat in 2019 reached 20, which featured 12 gold, four silver and four bronze.

Overall, Bhagat has bagged 40 international medals in his career so far. The 40 medals include 19 gold, seven silver and 14 bronze. In Denmark International, he settled for bronze medals after losing in mens SL3 singles and SL3-SL4 doubles with Manoj Sarkar as his partner. Sarkar went on to claim the gold medal in SL3 singles.

However, SL3 World No 1 Bhagat further consolidated his position in qualification rankings for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games with a total of 6,300 points, well ahead of second-placed Daniel Bethell of England who has 3,770 points to his name. Bhagat will next play the year-end Hulic Daihatsu Japan Para-Badminton International 2019, scheduled to be held from November 13 to 17 in Tokyo.
